About the event
On Sunday the 12th of July 2026, I will be teaching an open seminar in Brynnmawr, Wales! The seminar will run from 10am to 2pm and will be held at Unit 4, Noble Square Industrial Estate, Brynnmawr, Gwent, NP23 4BS. The cost will be £35 per person. The theme of the seminar will be Chinto / Gankaku / Jindo applications and drills. The kata is said to be a record of the methods of a Chinese sailor who became shipwrecked on the island of Okinawa. The kata contains escapes, locks, close-range strikes, throws, limb-control, strangles, etc. The kata has also had an influence on the Pinan / Heian / Pyung Ahn series; which will also be discussed.
